- Get there! Fly to Seattle, then Juneau, then hop on a little 6-seater plane for Skagway.
- Take pictures in front of the Driftwood building. It is literally covered with driftwood, thousands of pieces covering the exterior of the historic building. Sounds awesome.
- Walk the beach all the way around Skagway Bay.
- Go in every Shop. It's a small town so it's do-able, but there are lots of cute tourist shops.
- Cross the border into Canada and get a stamp in my passport.
- Hike into the Tongass Rain forest.
- See a whale.
- Ride on the Ferry.
- Take the White Pass and Yukon Railroad to Whitehorse, Canada.
- Visit the Gold Rush cemetery.
- Eat halibut. Or Salmon. Or Crab. Or try all three.
- Go to a Canada Super Store. Because Brett says so.
- Hike to Laughten Glacier. Touch the glacier :)
- Catch a fishy. A big one.
- Learn everything I can about Skagway... The people, history, wildlife, and where the name 'Skagway' comes from.
- See a moose. Or Caribou. I don't know which lives in the area.
- See a bear. Actually I could live without that but if I see one I will definitely blog about it.
- Hear a Canadian say "eh?" :)
- Collect a postcard from each city I visit. Seattle, Juneau, Skagway, Whitehorse...
- Take a picture of the Skagway River so pretty that someone would totally blow it up and put it on a wall.
The adventure starts Friday.
21. Swim in the Alaskan Ocean.
ReplyDeletehaha It can't be any colder than Silver Strands in the winter right? :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm going to be watching for your list to be filled! Good luck! We'll miss you, but have a great time!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun! It is like I am taking a trip down memory lane with you! I think you should add to your list - meet Buckwheat, try a pumpkin cookie from Mabel G's, see some salmon running up a small stream right through town, hike the Chilkoot Trail (if you are a backpacker, this is awesome!), & go skinny dipping in Lower Lake under the northern lights! I hope that most of those things are still there to enjoy. Boy do I love Skagway & hope that you have a great adventure! Thanks for sharing.
